Valeo Specialist Club Enters a New Chapter

The 2-Pedal Opportunity: Be Prepared with Valeo

The move towards automatic, dual-clutch, hybrid and other 2-pedal technologies is changing the way vehicles are driven - and it is also changing the opportunities available to the independent Aftermarket. Around 60-70% of new passenger cars sold in Europe now feature only two pedals, while the European 2-pedal vehicle parc is expected to grow by 44% by 2030. For garages and motor factors, the message is clear: 2-pedal technology is becoming an increasingly important part of the repair market, and businesses need to be ready for the specialist components and expertise that come with it.
More than just clutch replacement
Valeo is positioning itself to support this changing market with a comprehensive range covering many of the major components found in modern 2-pedal transmissions. The range includes Dual Dry Clutches (DDC), Dual Wet Clutches (DWC), DMFs, gear shift actuators, electric oil pumps, Dual Concentric Slave Cylinders (DCSC), Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) components and torque converters, supported by specialist tooling and technical training. Valeo are a key OE player in 2-pedal technologies, with the aim of bringing proven OE technology and expertise into the independent Aftermarket.
Dual Dry Clutch
Dual Dry Clutch technology uses two clutch assemblies to control different groups of gears, allowing rapid and synchronised gear changes without a conventional clutch pedal. Valeo's DDC offering covers clutch kits, DMFs, FullPACK solutions, actuators, hybrid coupling rotors and specialist tooling. One of the key workshop benefits is that the Valeo DDC module requires no shims, shortening fitting times and ease of fitment compared to other manufacturers, while the range is supported by dedicated extraction, installation and actuator calibration tools. Currently, there are more than 600,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland across key DDC applications, including Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro.
Dual Wet Clutch
For higher-torque applications, wet clutch technology provides greater heat dissipation and torque-handling capability. Valeo's DWC range includes dual wet clutch kits, remanufactured wet clutch kits, DMFs, pendulum DMFs and DWC + DMF FullPACK solutions. The range already covers applications including BMW 2 Series, MINI, Mercedes A-Class and Renault Captur, representing more than 350,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland across the current clutch references. Valeo's remanufactured DWC is also an important part of the proposition. The product won an Equip Auto Paris 2025 Innovation Award, combining OE performance and quality assurance with a competitive price proposition.
DMFs, actuators and electric oil pumps
The 2-pedal repair opportunity extends well beyond the clutch itself. Valeo's DMF range covers several major dual-wet-clutch transmission platforms, while its gear shift actuators provide the electromechanical control needed to select gears automatically. The current actuator range includes a gear shift module for Audi's DL382 dual-clutch transmission, covering more than 375,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland. Electric oil pumps are another increasingly important component. They circulate transmission fluid, support lubrication and temperature control, and can operate on demand – including when the engine is stopped in vehicles with start-stop systems. Valeo currently lists four references covering applications including the BMW i4, Porsche Taycan, Audi Q5 and Audi A4, representing around 390,000 vehicles in the UK.
DCSC: an emerging hybrid opportunity
One of the newer additions to Valeo's 2-Pedal portfolio is the Dual Concentric Slave Cylinder (DCSC). Unlike a conventional CSC, the DCSC independently operates the two clutch packs within a dual wet clutch transmission. Valeo's 875065 is an OE component for the VAG DQ400e six-speed wet dual-clutch transmission used in plug-in hybrid applications. This represents a particularly interesting Aftermarket opportunity as the hybrid parc grows, with applications including Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3, Skoda Superb and Volkswagen Tiguan.
iMT – another form of two-pedal technology
Intelligent Manual Transmission, or iMT, provides another example of how the traditional definition of a manual transmission has changed. Used by Hyundai and Kia, iMT allows the driver to select gears manually but uses an actuator and electronic control system to operate the clutch without a conventional clutch pedal. Valeo offers a comprehensive OE range covering clutch kits, CSCs, DMFs, DMF FullPACKs and actuators, with seven references identified as captive to Valeo for Hyundai and Kia applications.
Torque converters
The 2-pedal opportunity is not limited to dual-clutch technology. Torque converters remain a key component in conventional automatic transmissions, providing smooth power transfer, torque multiplication and vibration damping. Valeo's current range covers applications including Renault, Nissan, Opel/Vauxhall and Chevrolet, with six additional references due to arrive in Q4 2026. Valeo also highlights its position as #1 in OEM worldwide for torque converters.
Supporting the repair, not just supplying the part
As 2-pedal systems become more complex, technical support is becoming increasingly important. Valeo's range is supported by fitting instructions, technical service bulletins, fitting videos and hands-on DDC and DWC training, as well as specialist DDC tooling. For independent workshops, this can provide the additional confidence needed to take on repairs that may previously have been regarded as specialist or dealer-only work.
An opportunity for motor factors and garages
For motor factors, the growing 2-pedal parc creates an opportunity to move beyond conventional clutch sales and offer a broader range of higher-value, technically specialised transmission components. For garages, it provides the opportunity to develop capability in an area of the Aftermarket that is only likely to become more important as today's 2-pedal vehicles enter the independent repair cycle. With clutches, DMFs, actuators, electric oil pumps, DCSC, iMT components, torque converters, specialist tooling and technical support available from one OE-focused supplier, Valeo's proposition is designed to help both sides of the Aftermarket prepare for that change. The independent Aftermarket is increasingly being asked to repair more sophisticated transmissions. The opportunity is to make sure the skills, parts and support are in place before that demand arrives.
The future has two pedals
The shift towards 2-pedal vehicles is already underway, and the Aftermarket opportunity is growing with it. For motor factors looking to offer their garage customers access to specialist transmission components, and workshops looking to retain more complex repairs in-house, Valeo's 2-Pedal Transmission range provides a broad OE-backed portfolio designed for the changing vehicle parc. The Aftermarket is moving to two pedals. Valeo is ready to help it repair them.

Valeo's ever expanding 2-Pedal Transmission range gives motor factors and independent garages access to OE technology across an increasingly important area of the Aftermarket.

Valeo Service Launches a New Digital Ecosystem of High-Value Services

A New Recognition
Partslife is a German organization dedicated to promoting legally compliant waste management, recycling, and environmental services across the automotive aftermarket. The award was presented during the Partslife Congress in Vienna on 23 June 2026. This recognition highlights Valeo’s ongoing commitment to expanding its remanufacturing activities and extending reman solutions to increasingly advanced technologies. Both awarded products are part of Valeo’s I Care for the Planet program, which brings together all initiatives aimed at progressively reducing the environmental impact of its aftermarket activities. Remanufacturing is a key pillar of Valeo’s circular economy strategy.
Bringing Reman to Automatic Transmissions
The award-winning Valeo remanufactured dual wet clutch was specifically developed to address a major challenge in the automatic transmission market. It was initially launched for the DQ250 gearbox, which is installed in around five million vehicles across Europe, including 1.2 million vehicles on German roads alone. Until now, when the original clutch failed, workshops and vehicle owners had no alternative but to purchase a brand-new replacement part costing more than €600, excluding labor. Valeo’s reman solution directly addresses this issue, offering workshops and end users an average cost reduction of 25% compared with a new part. What makes this achievement an even greater technical milestone is that Valeo reverse-engineered a non-Valeo technology, developing a restoration process for a highly complex system it did not originally design
Combining Performance with a Lower Environmental Impact
The remanufactured dual wet clutch delivers the same quality and performance as a new OE part while offering a lower environmental impact. Weighing almost 10 kilograms, the clutch enables Valeo to recover and reuse around 90% of its original mass. By recovering valuable materials such as aluminium, steel, and copper, remanufacturing helps preserve natural resources, reduce waste, and support a more circular economy.
Supporting the Circular Economy
The remanufactured dual wet clutch illustrates how remanufacturing is evolving to meet the needs of modern vehicles. Historically associated with simpler products, remanufacturing is now becoming a viable solution for increasingly advanced technologies. By recovering valuable materials such as aluminium, steel and copper, remanufacturing helps preserve natural resources while reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable aftermarket ecosystem. This innovation also reinforces Valeo's commitment to expanding its remanufacturing activities and extending reman solutions to increasingly advanced technologies.
Promoting the Circular Economy Along the Value Chain
Unlike manufacturing new parts from scratch, remanufacturing relies entirely on reverse logistics. To keep this circular offer available for the automatic transmission market, the loop must be closed through the recovery and return of used parts, known as cores. Transmission specialists, traditional wholesalers, and workshops all have a vital role to play. By working together, these aftermarket stakeholders can accelerate the adoption of remanufacturing, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to a more circular automotive aftermarket.

Partslife awards Valeo’s remanufactured dual wet clutch

New to Range: Valeo NOx Sensors – The Smart Choice

New to Range: Valeo NOx Sensors – The Smart Choice
Euro 6 diesel vehicles are now firmly established in the UK car parc, and with age comes opportunity. One component in particular is becoming an increasingly common cause of workshop visits: the NOx (Nitrogen Oxide) sensor. Whether it's an illuminated engine management light, AdBlue warning countdown or an SCR system fault, failed NOx sensors are now one of the most frequent emissions-related repairs on modern diesel vehicles. For garages, this represents a growing and profitable service opportunity—provided the repair is completed correctly the first time. To support this expanding market, Valeo Service is proud to introduce 71 new NOx sensor references, extending our Engine Management Systems (EMS) portfolio and providing coverage for more than 8 million passenger vehicles in Great Britain. With the 71 new references covering many of Europe's highest-volume diesel applications, Valeo now offers reliable solutions for popular vehicles from manufacturers including:

Mercedes-Benz

BMW

Audi

Citroën

Peugeot

Volkswagen Group

And many more.

Why Do NOx Sensors Fail?
Unlike many engine sensors, NOx sensors operate in one of the harshest environments on the vehicle. They are exposed to:

Exhaust temperatures exceeding 800°C

Continuous vibration

Moisture and road contamination

Carbon and soot deposits

Thermal cycling during every journey

Over time these conditions degrade the sensing element or electronic control module attached to the sensor. Common symptoms include:

Engine Management Light (EML)

AdBlue warning messages

SCR efficiency faults

Reduced engine performance

Limp-home mode

Failed MOT emissions tests

Vehicle no-start countdowns once AdBlue timers expire

As vehicles continue to age, these failures are becoming increasingly common in independent workshops.
The Hidden Cost of Cheap NOx Sensors
NOx sensors may appear to be simple replacement parts, but they are highly sophisticated electronic components that must communicate accurately with the vehicle ECU.Low-cost alternatives can create far more problems than they solve. Common issues often include:

Incorrect calibration values

Communication errors

Phantom fault codes

Poor-quality wiring harnesses

Connector fitment problems

Reduced durability in high-temperature environments

The result? A vehicle returns with the same fault. The technician loses valuable diagnostic time. The workshop occupies a ramp that could have been generating income. Ultimately, the profit from the original repair disappears through warranty claims, repeat labour and customer dissatisfaction.
The Bottom Line
NOx sensor failures are no longer occasional repairs—they are becoming everyday workshop work. As emissions systems become increasingly sophisticated, technicians need replacement parts they can trust. With OE-quality engineering, exact-fit installation, extensive vehicle coverage and proven durability, Valeo NOx Sensors are engineered to be the fit-and-forget solution that protects workshop efficiency, ramp time and profitability.

Valeo launches 100 new NOx sensor references for Euro 6 vehicles, covering more than 40 million cars across Europe with real-time precision and proven reliability.

Through this program, distributors benefit from tailored support and incentives, strengthening collaboration across the value chain and encouraging a wider shift towards reman as the first-choice option.
Reman Built to As Good as New Standards
Workshops can rely on Valeo reman parts with complete confidence. Every remanufactured starter, alternator and compressor undergoes a rigorous process: disassembly, cleaning, repair or replacement of worn components, reassembly and full testing — before leaving the facility. The result is a part that delivers the same functional characteristics as a new one, backed by the same warranty. This means durability, performance and ease of installation in every repair, without compromise. And with reman parts typically more affordable than their new equivalents, the benefits extend to the bottom line as well as the environment.
Over 3,100 Reman References for European Workshops
The Valeo Re-Gen offer of remanufactured starters, alternators, starter-alternators and compressors now comprises more than 3,100 references, answering the daily needs of European workshops across this segment. Valeo chiller range expanded to support garages on EV/hybrid battery repairs

Independent garages are looking to take on more ambitious and profitable EV and hybrid jobs, and Valeo is supporting them by becoming first-to-market in the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) with a range of chillers. This key component can be found within many EV/hybrid thermal management systems, and is used to help keep Lithium-ion batteries cool. Skills are a key issue when it comes to EVs, but so is parts supply. While the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) predicts a shortfall of 3,000 EV-qualified technicians by 2031, finding techs will not be the only problem. Garages that want to capitalise on the growing EV/hybrid segment will also need access to a wide range of new parts for new jobs. The Valeo chiller range initially launched in 2024 with an OE reference for the Volkswagen ID.3 (P/N 822787). The range has now expanded with four new references that are currently in stock to drive differentiation with OE parts for EVs. These new additions include parts for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (P/N 822789), Hyundai Kona Electric Executive 2018 (P/N 822790), Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Prime 2021 (P/N 822791), and the Kia Niro EV EX Premium 2019 (P/N 822792). EV and hybrid thermal management systems play a crucial role in maintaining batteries, keeping them running at the optimum level, optimizing vehicle autonomy, and ultimately preventing thermal runaway. The chiller drops the temperature of the coolant to a desired level before it enters the battery pack, which helps to prevent heat damage to both the battery cells and electrical components like On-Board Chargers and Inverters. Connected to the A/C loop, Valeo's chillers utilize a modular stacked plate design that makes them ideal for all levels of electrification, from hybrids to battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The chillers are manufactured with ultra-light aluminum alloys to help lower the energy consumption of passenger cars. Furthermore, they are structurally designed for high resistance to corrosion, heat, vibration, and shock following O.E. specifications. High-quality refrigerant and coolant pipes, along with specialized connectors, ensure optimal flows and prevent any coolant or refrigerant leakage. Valeo's high-performance chillers also offer an adapted solution for quick charging. Despite their durability, chillers can fail and require replacement. Coolant can oxidise if left in the system for too long, which will corrode the chiller. Debris can also block the chiller, which reduces its performance. For more information on Valeo products and services, or to access the free Tech Assist technical support program online, visit: www.valeoservice.com

However, an IMI forecast in April 2025 estimated that only 67,000+ technicians (around 28% of the workforce) will be EV-qualified in 2025, if current trends continue. With the speed of change accelerating across the aftermarket, upgrading skills has never been more important.
Tech Academy Face-to-Face Training
Unlike most training courses on the market, which cover theory as a first step and practice afterwards, Valeo’s new EV and Hybrid face-to-face training sessions lean heavily on practical learning. This means trainees practice first, experiment second, and finally, work out the theory from their own actions. This practical approach is a tried and tested way to retain new information. Valeo’s Tech Academy EV and Hybrid Face to Face sessions offers three training levels:

L1: Essentials of Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance

L2: Components and Measurements of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

L3: Advanced diagnostics for hybrid and electric vehicles

Learning on Educational Simulators
At the heart of Valeo’s practical method lies its exclusive low-voltage educational simulator, which enables technicians to practice and experiment without risk. The simulator shows what happens within various components, providing full visibility of internal operations—a feature which would be impossible to obtain on a real high-voltage vehicle. It also reproduces all types of motor technologies for all brands and models, making it both universal and highly realistic.
150 Failure Scenarios
The simulator includes 150 failure scenarios to allow trainees to test, diagnose, correct, and apply what they have learned. These failure scenarios include:

Diagnosing complex EV and hybrid issues

Visualizing faults step-by-step

Understanding risks linked to high-voltage systems without any danger

Memorizing correct diagnostic procedures through hands-on repetition

While theoretical learning provides a strong foundation, the real difference happens on the simulator. Training sessions are also enriched with photos and videos of actual parts, helping participants make connections with components they see on a daily basis. Lightweight and easy to transport, the simulator allows Valeo trainers to bring high-value practical learning directly to technicians across regions.
Real World Experiences of Trainees
During a recent training session, participants were asked for feedback. “Technologies have evolved tremendously in recent years. As an automotive expert, you must always stay up to date,” says Dominique Queroy, Automotive Expert since 1988. “I had never attended a training course using a simulator. It’s incredibly effective for diagnosing a wide range of EV and hybrid situations.” Queroy strongly recommends both the course and the instructors: “The trainers are excellent, and the simulator makes learning by doing both accessible and memorable.” He also highlights the growing importance of EVs in his daily work: battery concerns, new types of failures, and the rapid evolution of systems. Bertrand Fresneau, an Automotive Expert from Lidéo Orléans, found the simulator similarly powerful.“It allows you to visualize real operations even without having a car available. You can clearly see different assemblies and technologies used in EVs.” Fresneau adds “electric vehicles evolve much faster than combustion engines, so continuous training is essential. This helps us guide technicians in the workshop, identify failure points, and quickly understand the origin of malfunctions”.
Recognised and Rewarded by Professionals
Achieving a 9.5/10 satisfaction score, Valeo Tech Academy empowers professionals to diagnose faster, reinforce their expertise, and build long-term business performance. By combining cutting-edge technical content with practical learning on simulators, it gives repairers the confidence to take on electrified vehicles and complex diagnostics with greater ease and accuracy. In a market undergoing rapid transformation, Valeo Tech Academy stands as a trusted partner, helping workshops turn new technological challenges into real growth opportunities.

Valeo Freewheel Pulleys: Keep Things Smooth

250 Part Numbers Covering Close to 200,000 vehicles
Valeo offers a comprehensive range of freewheel pulleys to complement its alternator portfolio, providing a complete service package for customers.Designed to meet the demands of modern automotive systems, Valeo’s wide range of high-quality freewheel pulleys are compatible across numerous applications. Manufactured with premium materials, Valeo's pulleys undergo rigorous tests to ensure the highest quality and long-lasting performance.Valeo’s offer covers all current technologies—from Overrunning Alternator Pulleys (OAP) to Overrunning Alternator Decouplers (OAD)—including the latest innovations on the market. With more than 250 part numbers covering approximately 200,000 vehicles, Valeo's freewheel pulleys are designed to fit a wide range of models, making integration and replacement easy.
What Freewheel Pulleys Do: Enhancing Efficiency and Engine Comfort
Freewheel pulleys are vital components within modern accessory drive systems, acting as a crucial interface between the alternator and the engine. The primary function of a freewheel pulley is to decouple the alternator's high-inertia rotor from the rotational irregularities of the crankshaft. When an engine decelerates or stops—a common occurrence in modern vehicles equipped with stop-start systems—the freewheel pulley allows the alternator rotor to spin freely. This decoupling action delivers three major benefits to the vehicle drive system:

Extends Component Lifespan: It filters out engine torsional vibrations, protecting the accessory belt, tensioner, and alternator from premature structural failure.

Maximizes Driver Comfort: It significantly reduces Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (N.V.H.) and eliminates belt flutter for a quieter ride.

Improves Fuel Efficiency: By mitigating friction losses caused by belt slippage during engine deceleration, it helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Technical Insight: Alternator rotors possess the highest rotational inertia across the entire auxiliary belt drive. Without a functioning freewheel mechanism, these massive inertial forces impose severe stress on the belt drive, accelerating wear-and-tear and risking catastrophic component breakdown.
Two Specialized Technologies for Precise Vibration Isolation
To support diverse engine designs and applications, Valeo’s expanded range covers all current market-leading technologies:

Overrunning Alternator Pulleys (OAP): Operating as a high-precision, one-way clutch, an OAP spins completely freely in one direction and locks immediately in the opposite direction to transmit power safely.

Overrunning Alternator Decouplers (OAD™): Engineered for more complex setups, an OAD™ rotates freely in one direction while utilizing an internal tuned torsion spring to provide gradual resistance in the other. This spring-like mechanism is engine-specific, allowing it to absorb harsh cylinder firing pulses before they ever reach the alternator shaft.

Understanding Wear: Common Failure Symptoms for Technicians
With a vast European car parc heavily relying on these components, wear-and-tear has created a surging demand for replacements. Technicians should look out for these common failure symptoms indicating a faulty or seized freewheel pulley:

Alternator Belt Whistling: A clear auditory warning sign typically triggered by belt slippage.

Severe Belt or Tensioner Breakdown: Occurs when a blocked pulley forces the belt system to absorb raw engine vibrations directly.

Battery Charging Loop Issues: Faulty pulley behavior can disrupt alternator rotation, leading to sudden battery discharge.

Collateral Component Damage: If an FWP completely seizes, other belt-driven components such as the A/C compressor, rollers, and auxiliary pulleys will suffer excessive stress.

Unmatched Range Expansion: Market Proof Points
Valeo’s latest portfolio expansion offers unmatched value, outperforming market standards while providing exceptional cost competitiveness.

<colgroup><col style="width:50%;"><col style="width:50%;"></colgroup>

Total Portfolio Strength

252 part numbers now active in the range

Recent Range Extensions

32 brand-new references launched to accelerate growth

Overall Market Coverage

Securely covers 80% of the targeted vehicle potential

Database Precision

100% visible in TecDoc with over 600 new OES/IAM crosses included

This expanded portfolio targets major high-volume vehicle applications in Europe, facilitating quick turnarounds for garages. Keep Things Smooth: Valeo Accelerates Market Coverage with Premium Freewheel Pulley Range Expansion

As temperatures rise, the demand for reliable vehicle air conditioning increases. For distributors, understanding the role of key AC components—the compressor and condenser—is essential in ensuring workshops have access to the right parts for effective repairs and maintenance.

Understanding the Role of the AC Compressor and Condenser

The AC Compressor: The Heart of the System
The compressor is responsible for circulating refrigerant through the air conditioning system. It compresses low-pressure refrigerant gas into a high-pressure, high-temperature state before sending it to the condenser. If the compressor fails, the entire AC system loses its ability to cool, leading to discomfort for the driver and potential damage to other components.

The AC Condenser: Heat Dissipation for Efficient Cooling
The condenser works like a radiator, cooling down the high-temperature refrigerant gas and converting it into a liquid state. It plays a crucial role in regulating the system’s temperature and overall efficiency. If the condenser is clogged or leaking, it can lead to overheating, poor cooling performance, and increased strain on the compressor.

Common Issues and Their Impact on AC Performance
Distributors play a key role in supplying workshops with high-quality replacement parts to address common AC system failures:

Compressor Failures – Can result from refrigerant leaks, contamination, or lack of lubrication. Symptoms include unusual noises, reduced cooling, or complete system failure.
Condenser Malfunctions – Often caused by debris buildup, corrosion, or leaks. Signs include overheating, weak airflow, or reduced cooling efficiency.
Refrigerant Cycle Disruptions – If either component is compromised, the entire AC system becomes inefficient, leading to increased energy consumption and potential vehicle overheating.

Why Proper Maintenance & Timely Replacement Matter
Regular maintenance of compressors and condensers is essential to:

Ensure AC Efficiency – Well-maintained components improve cooling performance and fuel efficiency.

Prevent Costly Repairs – Early detection of wear and leaks helps avoid major system failures.

Extend Component Lifespan – Keeping the system clean and well-lubricated reduces strain on the AC system.

By stocking Valeo AC compressors and condensers, distributors can provide workshops with the best-in-class components that enhance vehicle performance and reliability—ensuring a seamless and profitable AC season.

Engineering a Second Life

For years, the automotive industry has faced a growing challenge: how to balance the demand for high-performance replacement parts with the imperative to reduce environmental impact. Valeo, a global leader in thermal systems, has for many years embraced that challenge.
Through its RE-GEN (Remanufactured) program, Valeo reclaims used compressors that would otherwise end up in landfills. But this is not a case of simple refurbishment. The process is rigorous and methodical—an industrial symphony combining precision engineering, sustainability, and uncompromising quality standards.
Each Valeo RE-GEN compressor undergoes complete disassembly. Components are meticulously cleaned, tested, and either requalified or replaced with brand-new OE-quality parts. The compressors are then reassembled, tested under real conditions, and certified to match or exceed the performance of new units.
The result? A product that delivers new-part reliability at a fraction of the environmental cost.

An Economical and Responsible Alternative

Cost efficiency remains a key consideration in repair decisions, especially in markets where vehicle ownership is extending well beyond the warranty period. Valeo RE-GEN compressors offer a competitive price point compared to new compressors, allowing workshops to maintain profitability while delivering trusted performance.
At the same time, remanufacturing significantly reduces the demand for new raw materials and energy-intensive production processes. This makes Valeo RE-GEN a smart choice not only for reducing costs but also for supporting responsible resource use.
While exact figures can vary depending on model and application, the environmental benefit of choosing remanufactured parts is clear and growing in relevance—especially as regulatory and corporate sustainability targets continue to evolve.

Driving Toward a Circular Future

As the automotive industry continues to move toward circular economy models, the adoption of high-quality remanufactured components is becoming more than an option—it’s becoming a standard.
Valeo’s RE-GEN program is one example of how global players can lead the transition by combining technical innovation, cost efficiency, and environmental responsibility. It’s not just about replacing a part—it’s about making a better, smarter decision for the road ahead.

Valeo RE-GEN Compressors deliver where it matters: performance, reliability, and sustainability—without compromise.

Valeo’s Record FullPack™ DMF Launches

When it comes to automotive lighting, ensuring optimal visibility, safety, and reliability is essential. Valeo, a leading global automotive supplier, is renowned for producing high-quality, original lighting parts that are trusted by car manufacturers and consumers alike. While aftermarket alternatives may seem appealing due to their lower price points, there are several compelling reasons why it is better to use original Valeo lighting parts rather than choosing these cheaper substitutes. From performance and safety to long-term cost-effectiveness, original Valeo lighting parts offer significant advantages.
1. Superior Quality and Performance
Valeo lighting parts are designed and manufactured with precision to meet the specific needs of each vehicle model. They undergo rigorous testing to ensure optimal functionality, providing superior illumination, and improving visibility on the road. Whether it’s headlights, taillights, or fog lights, Valeo lighting components are engineered to offer consistent brightness, clarity, and light distribution, which is essential for safe driving, particularly at night or in low-visibility conditions.
In contrast, aftermarket lighting parts often lack the same stringent quality control measures. These components may not offer the same level of light output or clarity, leading to compromised visibility and potential safety risks. Aftermarket alternatives can also degrade faster due to inferior materials, which may result in dimming, flickering, or complete failure sooner than original parts.
2. Perfect Fit and Integration
One of the key benefits of using Valeo original parts is their perfect fit and seamless integration with your vehicle's lighting system. Valeo designs its lighting components to be an exact match for your car’s specifications, ensuring easy installation without the need for additional modifications or adjustments. This is especially important when it comes to advanced features such as adaptive lighting, automatic leveling systems, or sensor-based technologies.
Aftermarket lighting parts, on the other hand, may not be an exact match for your vehicle’s design. Even if they are advertised as compatible, installation can be more difficult, requiring adjustments or even reprogramming of the vehicle’s electrical system. This can lead to unnecessary time and labor costs, as well as potential risks if the parts are not properly integrated.
3. Durability and Longevity
Valeo's original lighting parts are made up of high-quality materials and produced pursuant to advanced manufacturing techniques. These components are built to endure harsh weather conditions, temperature fluctuations, and the general wear and tear that automotive parts face over time. Original Valeo parts are backed by warranties, giving consumers confidence that they will perform as expected for the long term.
Aftermarket alternatives, however, can possibly be made with lower-grade materials, which can lead to faster degradation. For instance, cheaper plastics may become brittle and crack more easily, or bulbs might burn out more quickly. In the long run, opting for aftermarket parts may cost more due to the need for frequent replacements, not to mention the inconvenience of dealing with faulty lighting.
4. Safety Compliance and Legal Considerations
When it comes to automotive lighting, safety is paramount. Valeo's lighting parts are designed to meet the safety standards set by vehicle manufacturers and regulatory bodies around the world. These parts ensure that your car’s lighting system performs optimally, providing the correct light intensity, beam pattern, and direction to avoid blinding other drivers and ensuring your vehicle is visible in all conditions.
Aftermarket lighting parts may not always comply with these rigorous safety standards. Some aftermarket products can produce excessive glare, reducing visibility for other drivers, or they may fail to provide the correct beam pattern, leading to unsafe driving conditions. In some jurisdictions, the use of non-compliant lighting can also lead to legal issues, such as fines or failing a vehicle inspection.
5. Maintained Aesthetic Appeal
Being the original part, Valeo lighting parts are designed to maintain the overall aesthetics of your vehicle. Whether you’re replacing headlights, taillights, or side markers, Valeo lighting integrates seamlessly with the vehicle's exterior design, helping maintain the car's original look and feel.
Aftermarket alternatives may not match the aesthetic qualities of the original equipment. Additionally, aftermarket lights may not offer the same advanced features, such as LED or xenon technology, which are becoming increasingly common in modern vehicles.
6. Better Resale Value
Maintaining your car with original parts is not only beneficial for its performance and safety but can also increase its resale value. Buyers tend to prefer cars that have been serviced with original equipment, as it gives them confidence in the vehicle’s reliability and overall condition. Using Valeo’s original lighting parts can thus contribute to a higher resale price.
In contrast, using aftermarket lighting parts can raise doubts about the car’s maintenance history and may even reduce its market value. Potential buyers may view aftermarket modifications as an indication of improper maintenance or inferior parts, which could negatively affect their purchasing decision.
7. Warranty Protection
Most vehicle manufacturers offer warranties that require the use of original parts to remain valid. Valeo lighting components, being OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, are covered by these warranties. Using aftermarket alternatives may void your vehicle’s warranty or cause complications if an issue arises that relates to the lighting system. In such cases, the manufacturer might refuse to honor the warranty if non-original parts were used.
Conclusion
While aftermarket lighting parts may seem attractive due to their lower price, the long-term benefits of using original Valeo lighting parts far outweigh the initial savings. With superior quality, better performance, and enhanced safety, Valeo lighting parts ensure that your vehicle remains reliable, visually appealing, and compliant with safety regulations. In the end, using original Valeo parts is an investment in your vehicle's longevity, safety, and overall value—making it the smarter choice for any vehicle owner.

<p>When it comes to automotive lighting, ensuring optimal visibility, safety, and reliability is essential. Valeo, a leading global automotive supplier, is renowned for producing high-quality, original lighting parts that are trusted by car manufacturers and consumers alike. While aftermarket alternatives may seem appealing due to their lower price points, there are several compelling reasons why it is better to use original Valeo lighting parts rather than choosing these cheaper substitutes.</p>
